Value

When we attached a value to thing/person, we inherently places an emotional chain between the thing/person and your heart. Every tug, every movement propagates thru the chain to the soft spot within us, affecting us like how an underwater earthquake can cause a tsunami miles away....

drama + cards

watched 败犬女王 and it brings forth some important life teachings:
don't get marry for the sake of marriage; the marriage cert is jus an indicator that you have a partner but not an effective indicator of happiness. its just the beginning of more trials of life

in addition, i have received two air mail items this week:
- a birthday card from sb :-D
- a postcard from a gd fren with a super funny stamp haha

in life, its the little things in life that warms one heart and we should share the warmth around...

Life is wonderful

Recently, i have been hooked onto this simple, nice and yet meaningful song from John Mraz.

Here are some extracts from its lyrics:
It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to you yawn brother
It takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

It takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
It takes some tears to make you trust
It takes some years to make it rust
It takes some dust to make it polished

Ha la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life is full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is so full of
Ah la la la la la la life is so rough
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life is full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is our love
Ah la la la la la

(and i shall leave this post at that, ahlalalalala)

Volatile

Everything in this world is so volatile (less extreme level - everchanging). It makes me wonder why is there the word "stable" in the dictionary.

Volatility can be found in...
1. share prices
2. love
3. weather
4. economy
5. government
6. a soccer team performance
7. energy emitted by the sun
8. rymthm of a beating heart
9. electricity pulsating through a wire

In such a world of uncertainty, how do one make the best of the volatility and turn that into something positive?

Unsolved Puzzles

Life is like a series of puzzles that you would stumble upon every now and then. In rare occasions, the key to the puzzle is as clear as black vs white. However, most of life's questions come in shades of grey, where the answers elude even the most inquisitive person. It is at such times that some chose to move on with a partially solved puzzle, and some who prefers to stay at that point making continual attempts at the puzzle.

time flies by

since my last post in Jan, so many things have gone by:

0. went zurich on biz for 3 days
1. my car finally came
2. went cambodia for leisure. awwww, the massage sessions were awesome
3. turmulous period at work with one issue after another... murphy's law at work again
4. finally my project went live despite the painful deployment journey
5. injured my knee from a 15km run - haiz, have to be off running for some time
6. coe price rockets. my car now costs 14k more - crazy
7. my car got its first abuse - someone actually threw a lit cigarette butt on the boot. now a burnt mark remains as a memory of the sad incident
8. time to really move on with my life - at a much faster pace

time waits for no man, but man waits all the time!

Waiting waiting...

The new "in" thing is white...
Waiting for it to come and complement my white bike.

monster

after my post on being careful with the monster, i saw an post-accident scene involving a monster.

it was near my place and ard 6:50am. i saw a cab went into the side of the monster. the bonnet of the cab completely went under the monster. it seemed like the monster was doing a u-turn and the cab just slammed into it.

the monster looked unscath but the cab was seriously damaged. hopefully the cab driver is ok. this shows the importance of road safety.

reservist training - taming the monster

(jus realised that this was a blank post even though i do intend to hav the following content; forgot to QC)

Have been learning to drive a 3 tonner truck over the past one week. What an experience!

Some pointers when you encounter my monster on the prowl.

1. My monster (truck) is huge and sturdy. In any collision, the other vehicle will be severely damaged and my monster will escape relatively unscathed.

2. The monster can never look to its rear and front left side. Make sure you are never at these spots.

3. The monster is slow and clumsy. It takes ages to brake. Overtake with caution and never follow at its rear.

4. The monster is capable of kicking debris outwards with its hind legs. Although rare, you wouldn't want to be hit these projectiles that are going at more than 100km/hr

It has been a stressful experience as I attempt to tame and control the monster. The monster has to prowl the road and it is my responsibility that it does so safely.

Gokusen Quote #2

Hold those wounds in your heart and live
There's no one who hasn't been hurt before
Everyone lives with something held within
You just have to keep on overcoming hurdles one by one
